Wichita Pecan Tree

The Wichita Pecan Tree is a great choice for growers looking forward to a delicious homegrown harvest! Grafted Wichita Pecan Trees typically begin producing nuts within 5 to 7 years after planting, depending on their age, growing conditions, and care. With plenty of sunshine, consistent watering, and proper fertilization, your tree can develop into a productive source of flavorful pecans for years to come.

Yes! For the best nut production, we recommend planting your Wichita Pecan Tree near a compatible pollinator. Wichita is a Type II pecan variety, meaning its female flowers are typically receptive before its pollen is released. Pairing it with a Type I variety, such as Desirable or Western Schley, can improve cross-pollination and help maximize your harvest. Be sure to choose a pollinator suited to your local growing conditions.

Your Wichita Pecan Tree will thrive in a sunny location with plenty of room to grow! Plant it where it receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily and has deep, well-draining soil. Wichita Pecan Trees perform especially well in regions with long, hot growing seasons and relatively mild winters. Water regularly while your tree becomes established, and allow plenty of space for its mature canopy. With the right care and growing conditions, you'll enjoy a beautiful shade tree that produces large, thin-shelled pecans with rich, delicious flavor.
