Red Congo Philodendron Plant

The Red Congo Philodendron stands out with its bold, tropical foliage and stunning color transformation. New leaves emerge in rich shades of burgundy and red before maturing into deep, glossy green. Unlike climbing philodendrons, the Red Congo has an upright, self-heading growth habit, making it an excellent statement plant for your home or office. Its vibrant colors and lush appearance add a touch of tropical elegance to any space.

Your Red Congo Philodendron will thrive in bright, indirect sunlight, which helps maintain its beautiful foliage and vibrant red new growth. Place it near an east-facing window or a few feet away from a south- or west-facing window. While this adaptable houseplant can tolerate moderate light, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. With the right lighting, your Red Congo will reward you with healthy growth and gorgeous tropical color.

Yes! The Red Congo Philodendron is a relatively low-maintenance houseplant, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced plant lovers. Water when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil feel dry, allowing excess water to drain away to prevent root rot. This tropical beauty prefers well-draining soil, warm temperatures, and moderate to high humidity, but it adapts well to typical indoor conditions. With a little attention, your Red Congo can grow into a lush, eye-catching centerpiece. Keep in mind that this plant is toxic if ingested, so place it out of reach of curious pets and children.
