The Fastest-Growing Symmetrical Sycamore

Why American Sycamore Trees?

The American Sycamore is very popular for residential landscaping because of its extremely fast growth. In fact, the American Sycamore can gain up to 6 feet per year, growing a thick canopy that provides tons of shade quickly.

You can count on your American Sycamore to grow into a full, symmetrical tree. The tree's many branches develop large green leaves that turn to gold in the fall, offering good looks and dense growth. This makes it excellent for shielding your home from hot summer weather or allowing in plenty of sun during winter when you need it most. And the Sycamore develops smooth, white bark in the winter, adding additional seasonal interest when other trees look drab.

So, it’s an energy and money-saver. Even better is the fact that it’s easy to grow too…adaptable to moist soil types, thriving in both warm and cold climates, and growing well with just a bit of water and sun.

tall tree

All was good tree came in good condition. It was tall but with few branches I know Sycamore's grow fast so it will fill in.

Trees.com Plant ExpertHi William, thank you for writing to us! We are so glad to know your tree made a safe journey and arrived looking healthy. Since our trees are young when shipped, they put most of their initial energy into shooting upward, and the lateral branching follows quickly as the tree settles into your native soil. You can look forward to seeing that canopy fill out with lush foliage very soon. Thank you for trusting us with your garden, and happy growing!

Great tree so far

I ordered the 5-6 ft tree and it shipped quickly. It does look a bit like a stick with a leaf on top when you pull it out of the box but I got it in the ground same day and after about a week it has had tons of new growth. I’m excited to watch it thrive and explode with growth in the coming years.

Trees.com Plant ExpertThank you for sharing your feedback and photo, Katherine! It is totally normal for young potted sycamores to look lightweight initially, but their strong underground root systems take off quickly once planted. We're always here if you need any help!

sycamore tree

Most of the leaves dropped off. but new ones are sprouting. otherwise every thing was fine

Trees.com Plant ExpertHi Richard, thanks for choosing Fast Growing Trees! That initial leaf drop was just your sycamore's way of conserving energy while settling into its new home. Now that new leaves are pushing out, your tree is well on its way to strong, fast growth!
