Brighten Up Your Winter Landscape with Berry Poppins®

When the weather begins to grow colder, Berry Poppins® is ready to shine! This stunning winterberry holly provides year-round interest, starting in the spring when delicate white flowers burst forth. The flowers transition to small green berries, which are mostly hidden by the glossy green leaves. As autumn arrives, the berries begin to change colors and the foliage shifts to a blazing yellow. As the temperature cools and the days shorten, Berry Poppins® puts on her amazing show of branches laden with bright red berries.

Compact with a dwarf habit, Berry Poppins® is practically perfect for any small space. Easy to grow and care for, this holly is resistant to deer and pests. You’ll love seeing the many birds and pollinators who flock to this native evergreen during each season.

All winterberry hollies have male and female varieties, and both plants must be present in order for the female Berry Poppins® to produce her signature red berries. An excellent choice for a pollinator mate is Mr. Poppins®, and only one male specimen is needed for up to five female hollies. For best results, plant the males and females within 50 feet of each other in order to attract pollinators like bees and butterflies to ensure fruit. Add the lovely Berry Poppins® to your landscape today!

About Proven Winners®: Proven Winners® ColorChoice Shrubs offers flowering shrubs, evergreens, and trees that have been tested for eight to ten years to ensure they outperform conventional varieties. That means bigger flowers, more colorful foliage, reblooming, disease resistance, new habits, or anything that makes them more beautiful and easier to grow in your landscape or garden.

Berry wonderful

Plants looked good on arrival, just a little tired. They perked up quickly and look great. Already put on new growth. I’m looking forward to a few years from now when they gain some height and start to berry.

Trees.com Plant ExpertHi Kate, thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad to hear your Berry Poppins Hollies perked up so quickly. Even though they are packed carefully, the journey can sometimes leave live plants looking a little tired upon arrival, so we love knowing they bounced right back and are already pushing new growth! It is such a rewarding shrub. Just a friendly reminder that to get those famous red berries in a few years, your female Berry Poppins will need a compatible male pollinator (like Mr. Poppins) planted nearby. Thank you for choosing us, and happy planting!

So far, so good!

I'm hoping they grow fast enough to stay above the weeds and that Mr Poppins is capable of fertilizing them well but so far (about 1. 5 wks after planting) they seem to be establishing and growing new leaves well. Fingers crossed!

Trees.com Plant ExpertNew leaves after just a week and a half is a great sign that they're already establishing well! Berry Poppins Holly are such a rewarding shrub and we're really hopeful they take off and stay ahead of those weeds. Fingers crossed for a great growing season!
