Japanese Silk Lilac

Spokane WA My now 2 year old Japanese Silk Lilac is just what I hoped it would be! Had its first blooms and they smell delicious! Also nice that they pop up seasonally later than the familiar purple lilacs that appear in May & leave quickly

Trees.com Plant ExpertThank you for the review and the gorgeous photos, Chris. Your Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac Tree looks absolutely stunning in full bloom. We love that you are enjoying its unique seasonal timing, which provides those fragrant white blossoms right after standard spring lilacs fade. It has clearly found a perfect home in Washington. Happy growing!

Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac Tree,

The tree came packed well. It has a straight trunk. I did not realize there are no lower branches. The foliage is starts about 6 ft up and is sparse at best right now. Hoping is fills in quickly.

Trees.com Plant ExpertThanks so much for the feedback! We’re happy it arrived packed well and looks great. It’s common for the Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac Tree to start with branches higher on the trunk, then gradually fill in lower as it settles in and grows. Keep an eye on new growth—next season is often when you see the fuller shape. If you have questions, we’re here to help.
