Over 10 foot tall in in one year !!

We bought this fig tree as a 3 gallon in May 2024. It’s Oct 2025 and it grew from a 3-4 foot tree to over 10 foot tall ! It’s been bearing over 200 figs this year in the North Texas heat. Was are shocking with how fast this tree has grown.

Fruiting already…

Just returned from holiday to discover that the 3-gallon Chicago Hardy Fig from Fast Growing Trees which we potted out on our patio a couple months ago has already put out a healthy crop of a dozen little figs.

Fresh, Delicious Figs...Even at -10 Degrees

Why Chicago Hardy Fig Trees?

No matter how cold it gets, the Chicago Hardy Fig Tree will never let you down. Why? For starters, the Chicago Hardy can literally freeze over and still come back strong the following spring, producing bushels of plump, delicious figs.

And you get a ton of fresh fruit. Perfect for peeling and eating right off the tree in late summer to early fall, you'll be enjoying these amazing figs just a year or two after planting. The numbers may surprise you: Your Chicago Hardy will yield as many as 100 pints of figs each season!

This fig tree is doing

This fig tree is doing fantastic, it has grown so much, had figs on it when I got it, and is now putting on more new little figs which is unusual for this time of the year

Media from review #1
Trees.com Plant ExpertHi Pamela, thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful update! Hearing that your fig tree has grown so much and is already setting another flush of figs is music to our ears. Chicago Hardy figs are famous for their resilience, and those late-season figlets show just how healthy its root system and canopy are. Because figs produce fruit on current-year branches, warm autumn weather often triggers an extra burst of fruit production. Depending on your local climate and when your first frost arrives, these little late figlets may or may not finish swelling and ripening before the tree goes dormant for winter. Either way, it demonstrates incredible vigor that sets your tree up for a fantastic return in spring. We stand firmly behind our plants with our guarantee, and our team is cheering on your homegrown fig orchard!

Love my Chicago hardy fig!

I picked this variety because it got high marks for growing well in my area. I liked the way it was packed and most of the leaves were alive. It's planted and I'm keeping my fingers crossed and following the watering directions. Hope it's alive in the spring.
