One of the Fastest Growing Privacy Screens
Why Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar Arborvitaes?
The Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar is one of our most popular varieties due to its fast, full growth. After the first year, this tree grows more than 3 feet every year until it reaches its mature height. Plus, since it's extremely narrow, it’s an ideal screen for even tighter spaces.
And there's simply no better option for a privacy screen because it's cheaper than a traditional fence. The Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar’s dense growth habit and manageable width make it perfect for borders, street hedging and beyond. Since it can grow up to 30 feet, it's even well-suited as a buffer for second-story balconies and decks. Even better? It’s resistant to extreme heat, cold, wind, and ice, so it's super strong. A little watering and it's good to grow!
What is a Jumbo Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar Arborvitae Tree?
Jumbo trees are the most mature plants offered at Trees.com. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size of 10-15 gallons, they deliver superior drought resistance, enhanced mineral absorption, and fuller growth. They're the perfect choice for instant privacy and a more established look in your landscape.
Grown in limited quantities, Jumbos are a premium option for those looking to make an immediate impact in their yard.

we bought 10 American pillar
we bought 10 American pillar arborvitae in April of this year i checked to make sure there would be no freeze but the internet was wrong that is why i put these trees warped and in pink buckets any way i called Trees.com and the person i spoke with was Liza Baugh she told me how much mulch to buy in my picture i didn't have enough i had to go get more the next day, liza told me how much mulch not to let the mulch touch the trees how far back to keep it from them, how to check to see if the trees needed water she suggested i buy root rocket evergreen packet one for every tree, she told me these trees would not grow this year they would just establish that girl lied (they were a lot of work every day i was out there checking the trees like liza said thank you liza ) i wanted to use tree spike food she told me not to this year it would harm them i could next year only the root rocket evergreen packet one for each tree, those little one foot trees are 3 feet tall. i planted them in April it's Oct . these cute little trees looked like sticks they are beautiful 3 foot little trees still small but great looking . i don't know anything about trees i really questioned liza and she knew her stuff . i have hopes of a beautiful privacy line of trees some day . i will be buying trees again from this company i want a couple more next year. if liza boss is reading this give her a kudos or a nice Christmas bonus thank you I'm really happy with my trees . oh the way they were shipped they were safely packaged in a box arrived in great shape .
Full speed is rightfully named.
I ordered 80 of the quart size in early 2025. I like the quart size because the roots are not bound in the pot, and seperate with just a little shake. Put them where you want them and leave them be. I have a watering spike, and drip line ran to each one so I can water the root. I don't remember when I got them in the ground, but they are all over 5' tall now. My yard will be enclosed in no time. These little trees are amazingly fast growers.
First Purchase
So far so good, this is my first time to order anything alive on the net and it has been a real pleasure. They arrived in good shape and nicely packaged. They're planted and watered...and still green. I'm going to need alot more so we'll see how they do.

I love Trees.com. Been very helpful when I have an issue or need advice. These are great trees. If there is an issue they’ll help, or in the worst case, replace. I’ll keep buying, for sure. We’ll get there.
