Elegant, Ornamental Grass with Four-Season Display
Looking for an ornamental grass with year-round interest? Adagio Maiden Grass, also known as Miscanthus Adagio, is the perfect choice.
Versatile and easy-to-grow, this Maiden Grass thrives in nearly any landscape. It just needs sun and a little water to grow its signature dense clumps of elegant, arching grass.
Plus, this ornamental grass looks good year-round. Cut back to a height of 6 inches in late winter or early spring, an array of silvery, spear-like leaves appears soon after. But that's not all - as summer approaches, coppery tassels that turn into long, feathery plumes emerge, standing tall above the foliage. These plumes will last through winter, even after foliage turns yellow.
The best part? Our Adagio Maiden Grass is an easy grower, tolerating everything from winter cold to heat and humidity, thriving in growing zones 5-9. It's adaptable to clay or sandy soils, and can tolerate some shade. It's even resistant to deer.
Tall, dense clumps are perfect for planting along a property line, or hiding landscape elements like well housing or septic pumps. You can also use the Adagio Maiden Grass to anchor a natural garden, or accent a small pond.

Beautiful addition to my ornamental grass collection. Very healthy upon arrival and has stayed that way throughout the summer. Shoots just starting to rise. Excited to see them in full bloom
Maiden grass
Arrived beautiful full and healthy
Beautiful Maiden Grass
These arrived quickly and in excellent condition. They were fairly small when they arrived (purchased in October 2025), but they have grown tremendously since then. The second photo shows what they look like today (September 2026). They’ve filled in beautifully and exceeded my expectations.
Grasses are healthy
Such happy, healthy and beautiful grasses
